Bournemouth Joggers has it’s very own 'Club Championships' with the idea that you get rewarded for representing the club wherever and whatever you run in.  If you complete any of the designated races or bonus events mentioned, then you will earn points.  The CC runs the full calendar year, ending 31 December.  There are then trophies presented at the AGM each January for the top 15 individuals.  It has no bearing on your speed or ability as there are multiple opportunities to earn additional points to boost your total, which then means the final results are often quite surprising.

There will be a change to the format of the BJCC for 2020 .

The following events only, which are a mix of road (R) and trail (OR), will qualify you to earn points;

11/01/20 Maverick races (OR)

2/2/20 Blackmore Vale ½ (R)

7/3/20 Larmer Tree events (OR)

19/4/20 Marnhull 12K (R)

26/4/20 Jurassic trail events (OR)

17/5/2020 May 5 (R)

31/5/20 Hellstone events (OR)

14/6/20 Puddletown Plod ½ (R)

19/7/20 D’Urberville Dash (OR)

Upton Summer Series-Best place (OR)

2/8/20 Sturminster ½ (R)

13/9/20 New Forest events (R)

11/10/20 Gold Hill 10K (R)

17/10/20 Mavrick events (OR)

15/11/20 Wimborne 10 (R)

Whilst there are 15 events on offer, your best 10 results will count. For each, you will be competing for points against other BJs in your 5 year age group (based on the age you will be turning during 2020, regardless as to when your birthday actually is). Each age group will go from eg 25-29, 30-34 etc. If you are the 1st BJ across the finish line in your age group, then you score the maximum 5 points, 2nd BJ in the age group scores 4 points and so on, down to 1 point. If you are the 6th BJ in your particular age group to cross the line then you don't walk away empty handed as you will still score 1 point.

For the Upton Summer Series, you can choose to run one or more of these but only your best place across the series will count.

Points from your best 10 events will be totalled after the last of the 15 CC races and trophies will be awarded at the AGM in January 2021 as usual, down to 15th place.

So, if you want to be with a chance of taking part in next years BJCC, you need to start planning which events you want to sign up for. Many of these fill up early so don't delay getting your entries in. The plan is to only track results from these 15 events.
